Family on the river Parsons, TN family photographer / by Stephanie Mullins

Tonight I cant sleep.  I cant shake the horrible feeling from what has happened in our little town, and I cant quite wrap my head around how there can be such evil in our world.  After laying in the bed for an hour and realizing that I couldnt close my eyes, I remembered the afternoon I had just spent with my little family of three.  In that same world I was just thinking had so much evil in it, I realized there is also so much beauty right in front of our eyes that we take for granted.  So I hugged my sweet girl tight and I hopped up to start editing our session on the river.  I rarely post pictures of myself, or really even like to have them taken, but tonight is an exception.  The idea for this shoot actually came about in early spring on a trip to Knoxville.  I found this little onsie and a matching shirt for me and automatically thought about a shoot on the river.  I was raised on this river, and I have spent most of my adulthood summer weekends here.  I hope to make it just as special of a place for Aubrey as it has been for me, it just feels like home.   It was a perfect afternoon, not too hot for the first time in a while, and strangely peaceful on the usually busy TN river, so I figured today would be the day.  I hope you enjoy our little session and find as much beauty in it as I do.  Enjoy

This will be the only appearance for Aubrey's headband.  Soon after this shot she decided to throw it in the river.  Luckily dad went in after it!
