Studio update / by Stephanie Mullins

What do you do with a 100 yrd old shed that just keeps collecting everyones junk?  You turn it into a studio of course!  With the generosity of an awesome friend who let me rummage through his old barns, we are turning some old forgotten architectural treasures (aka barn wood and forgotten windows) into one incredible  daylight studio.  The finishing details of this studio are what makes me so happy, and is what I think will wow everyone when it is complete.  Yes, we had to pull the old cedar post because of rot, but once we finish all will be covered with the old once again.  As with any construction project it always takes longer than expected, which has kept me from keeping the blog updated with the beautiful kiddos and babies I have shooting, but slow and steady wins the race is what I have always heard... so Im thinking we will get first place with this project.  I cannot wait to share the finished product with you all soon!  Until then, here are some photos to keep you intrigued!  Today the roof is going on....yipee!  Did I mention it is clear.... yep, like I said its a daylight studio for sure!  Enjoy

Isnt she a beauty!  When finished there will be 18 windows across the front, three on the side and two in the back!  Along with the clear roof, we will have amazing light even on the cloudiest of days!

We got the first section of sod laid last weekend!  There will be more to go in the front once construction is finished.

This is where the wonderful old windows were found.

Here is the only before I could find, although I know I have more somewhere.... LIke I said, it was literally collecting junk!  Notice the old door standing up in the back.  That will be the door to the studio.  I pulled that out of my great grandmothers shed before we sold the house and have been wondering for three years what I was going to do with it :)
